Occasional Ramblings with a Camera

This blog is my occasional ramblings on here, there and about, with and very occasionally without a camera. Photography, art, landscape (principally Scottish), heritage and wildlife are the things that interest me the most, so thats what I'll be writing about and of course showing pictures of. They say that a photograph is worth a thousand words, well I'm not so sure about that but if it is then great as it will save me a heap of typing, all power to the image.

Aase Goldsmith ~ photographer

It was with great sadness that Aase after a short illness passed away on the 28 September 2015.
Aase had a tremendous enthusiasm for life, people and photography. Her photography for which she had numerous exhibitions in the UK and abroad, winner of the Richard Hough award, her various documentary projects archived and never a day went by without shooting numerous photographs. That enthusiasm was passed on selflessly to many others. To the very end, even while in hospital and latterly her brief stay (it was anticipated she would get back home) in a hospice, she continued to photograph and encouraged others in their own endeavours.
She will be greatly missed and never forgotten by those who knew her. Her images are however the true legacy.
