For nearly twenty five years I've been a freelance photographer, with a few breaks to follow other routes including three years out taking a BA (Hons) in Photographic Studies, under renowned tutor John Blakemore ao. Following that, a number of years as field and studio photographer with the British Geological Survey.
I see myself as a general practitioner with the ability and experience to take on a wide variety of work, passing over that which I feel needs a more specialist approach and where I cannot guarantee high standards.
I frequently get asked to do environmentally based photography for organisations such as Scottish Natural Heritage (for whom I've also done web design and edit work) and Scottish Environment Protection Agency, I'm currently their contract photographer.

Outwith my own photography I have considerable experience of Picture Research (Edinburgh University, Cairngorms Online Educational Resource, SNH Futures, etc.) and can source images as required. See also the Web Creation section.

Picture requests can be quickly scanned (if not already) and posted. Living in rural Scotland I'm not yet in a broadband area but low resolution images can be e mailed for imposition.
