Landscape trees
Trees have always been a fascinating subject for artists, the lone tree to a photographer becomes like a bee to a flower. While these are pictorially interesting we must think on why they are alone. Of course some were planted to enhance the landscape as specimen trees, to provide wind breaks or shade, commercial planting also. However in the upland glens overgrazing by sheep and deer are frequently the cause for that lone tree and not a forest. Often sticking out of a rock face the lone tree is there because no deer could get to it and is now just clinging on.
Still we look for moments that are right, that are whole.
